Where Richmond can see "The Odyssey" on a premium screen

If you're hoping to see Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" as the director intended, you may want to start looking at train schedules: the closest theater showing it is in King of Prussia, Pa.
Why it matters: That's more than 250 miles and at least five hours from Richmond.
State of play: King of Prussia Regal is one of just 25 U.S. theaters with 70mm IMAX screens — Nolan's preferred presentation of "The Odyssey," Axios' Herb Scribner reports.
- 70mm IMAX screens offer the highest-quality image and sound.
- They're "the gold standard" for films, according to Nolan, who shot "The Odyssey" entirely using IMAX cameras, a first for any narrative film.
How it works: A standard film strip is 35mm. A 70mm print is physically larger, allowing for higher image resolution.
- 70mm IMAX screens also display a taller image, letting audiences see more of the frame.
- Screens at traditional IMAX theaters, like the two in Richmond, are too small to support 70mm showings.

- Both are still less than the $35 it costs at the 70mm IMAX theater in King of Prussia.
The bottom line: If you're a big movie buff, a trip to suburban Philly may be your best bet.
