Roots Natural Kitchen opens new Innsbrook location

The Innsbrook location for Roots Natural Kitchen, the Charlottesville-based fast-casual restaurant known for its salads and bowls, opens Saturday.
Why it matters: Ahead of the opening, they're hosting a scavenger hunt on Friday where locals can win free Roots for a year.
State of play: Roots was founded in Charlottesville in 2015 and has since grown to more than 20 locations across six states, including four in Richmond once the newest spot opens.
- Roots opened its first Richmond location near VCU in 2018 — its third nationwide — and later added one on Broad in Henrico, one in Chesterfield in Winterfield Crossing and, as of Saturday, Innsbrook.
On the menu: Customizable salads, rice and grain bowls ($12-$15) or you can build your own.
- It's like Chipotle, only better, say fans.
Zoom in: Ahead of the opening, Roots is hosting a scavenger hunt on Friday beginning at 10am with the chance to win free Roots for a year and other prizes.

- And participants can hang around for a pre-opening lunch (with specials).
- Then for Innsbrook's grand opening day, Roots is throwing an all-day celebration with merch giveaways (sweatshirts, tees and hats).
If you go: Roots's Innsbrook location opens Saturday, June 6 at 11am at 4101 Dominion Boulevard.
- It'll be open daily for lunch and dinner. All Roots offer dine-in, takeout and delivery.
