CoStar testing giant LED display on Richmond tower

State of play: Once it's complete, CoStar's 26-story office tower at 600 Tredegar St. will occasionally display patterns and/or holiday themes, company spokesperson Nick Leverett tells Axios.

• The displays are through a solar-powered LED glass system and will apparently be visible from miles away, per videos shared by Axios Richmond readers.
• The system will also show AI-generated "continuously changing scenes of nature," CEO Andy Florance told BizSense last year.

Zoom out: The tower is just part of CoStar's downtown office complex, which also includes Foundry Park, a six-story mixed-use building with retail space.

• Among the retail: Four restaurants, including a sushi spot and Fifth and Foundry, a New American restaurant concept from the owners of 1870 Restaurant and Bar and Midlothian Chef's Kitchen in Chesterfield.

What's next: The office tower is expected to open soon. The restaurants should open early next year.
