It might be Riverrock weekend, but there's still plenty else going on in town.
- Here's what you can get into.
Friday
🚂 A toy and train show is taking over 20,000 square feet at Stony Point Fashion Park this weekend, packing it with toy trains for kids of all ages. Friday, noon-6pm and Saturday, 9am-4pm. Free.
🖼️ The Fan Arts Stroll is on the 2000-2500 blocks of Hanover and 2200-2500 blocks of Grove with live music, art and food trucks. 4-8pm. Free.
🧗♂️ Dominion Energy Riverrock — Richmond's favorite three-day outdoor sports, live music, extreme sports and dog jumping watching — festival is here.
- Events start Friday at 5pm and run through Sunday at 5pm next to Brown's Island this year. The festival is Richmond at its best. Free.
🎬 The Flying Squirrels are on the road this weekend so it's movie night at CarMax Park with "Inside Out" on the big screen. Gates (and happy hour) at 6:30pm. Movie at 7:30pm. $11.
Saturday
🏃🏻♀️ The Autism Society of Central Virginia's 5K & Family Fun Day is back at the North Shore Commons in Innsbrook. 8-11am. $50 to run it, but free to watch.
🥳 Rise Academy is hosting the East End Block Party on Carlisle Avenue with music, food and more. Noon-4pm. Free.
🦆 Get some group birdwatching in while drinking beer at Birdywood: Bird Watching at Hardywood West Creek. 3:30-4:30pm. Free.
🤣 Actor and comedian Patton Oswalt is at The National for an all-ages show. 7pm. Tickets start at $46.
🎭 The Broadway musical hit "& Juliet" is at Altria as part of the Broadway in Richmond season. Runs through Sunday. Showtimes vary. Tickets start at $53.10.
🪐 "The Planets & Star Wars: A Cosmic Concert" has the Richmond Symphony performing composer John Williams' "Star Wars" soundtrack and the music that inspired him — Gustav Holst's "The Planets" — at Carpenter Theatre. Saturday and Sunday, times vary. Tickets start at $20.
Sunday
🐻 Meet a bear (sort of) by going behind the scenes of Maymont's newly remodeled bear habitat at their Breakfast with the Bears event. 10:30-11am, Saturday and Sunday. Adult tickets start at $65.
🛍️ Zorch Pizza Parlor in South Richmond is hosting a springtime artisan market in its backyard. There will be pizza, cocktails, games and local artists. Kid and dog-friendly. 1-5pm. Free.
