Create your own latte at this hidden Richmond dessert spot

Driving the news: I recently swung by Sweet Treat after seeing their post about a Fruity Pebbles latte, which capitalizes on the cereal milk trend meant to invoke a bit of childhood nostalgia.

• Upon ordering it, I found out it's part of their "secret menu" — ask them about it to learn more — and that Sweet Treat lets you custom order any latte.
• They have around 50 add-in flavors to choose from, and that doesn't even include their toppings, which include peanut butter Captain Crunch and blueberry cobbler crumbs.

Zoom out: Sweet Treat is a late-night dessert spot that opened last fall with a menu that includes ice cream, an espresso bar, crepes, waffles and in-house tres leches cakes.

Plus: The staff are just lovely and the Fruity Pebbles latte ($6.25), complete with a crunchy cereal finish in every sip, is one of the best lattes I've had in Richmond.

• And I've had a lot.
