It's a big RVA weekend for Shakespeare, artsy festivals and gardening.
Thursday, April 23
🐓 Dine with Shakespeare, sort of, by learning about culinary traditions during Shakespeare's lifetime at Agecroft Hall. 6-7:30pm. $12.
- The event includes a lecture, guided tours of Agecroft and period recipes you can take home and try for yourself. So get ready to slaughter something at home (we joke).
🍽️ Speaking of food, Richmond Restaurant Week is still running, through Sunday. Pick your restaurants and feast. Times vary. $42.26 per person.
🌪️ Broadway in Richmond's showing of "The Wiz" will be at Altria Theater through Sunday. Multiple showtimes. Tickets start at $41.35.
Friday, April 24
🌸 Historic Garden Week heads to the governor's mansion in Capitol Square for a tour of the garden and home. 10am-4pm. Free.
Saturday, April 25
🪴 Maymont's Herbs Galore, Richmond's favorite plant sale, has over 70 vendors with everything you need to get your garden ready with over 70 vendors. 8am-3pm. $10 for adults.
🚂 Get in on some family fun with Ashland Train Day. There will more than a dozen trains on display, plus train rides, live music, bounce houses and more. 10am-4pm. Free.
🍻 Swine and Brine is back at Ardent Craft Ales, with six local food vendors serving up seafood, oyster or pork dishes and plenty of wine and beer for sale. Noon-8pm. Admission is free.
🎭 Agecroft Hall is celebrating Shakespeare's 462th birthday with a party featuring songs, dancing and Tudor-era crafts. Noon-5pm. Free.
🏳️🌈 It's Pride Night with the Richmond Kickers, which means $4 beer from 5-6pm and free pride flags while supplies last. Richmond will play the Charlotte Independence 6pm. Tickets start at $20.
Sunday, April 26
🎨 Richmond Animation Festival is back again, Saturday and Sunday, featuring short, animated film screenings. Locations vary. 7pm. Tickets start at $15.
🐦⬛ RavenCon wraps its three-day horror and science-fiction fan fest at The Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center in Glen Allen. Times vary. Tickets for the day start at $35.
