Flavor Hive closes at The Park, plans new Richmond spot

Flavor Hive is out of The Park. Literally.

The big picture: Less than six months after the viral food truck said it'd be "permanently open" inside the Scott's Addition bar, it permanently closed there on Saturday.

Why it matters: Flavor Hive is opening another brick-and-mortar in the Richmond area within the next three to four weeks, co-founder Amgd Gende tells Axios.

Gende says location details are still being finalized and aren't ready to be shared.

Catch up quick: The Alexandria-based truck is social media famous for its bring-your-own-bag-of-chips concept that staff fill with Halal meat.

And when the truck showed up to The Park as a pop-up last February, Flavor Hive told Axios they served 3,500 people — out of the estimated over 6,000 who showed up.
When they opened at The Park in November, a line was wrapped around the bar within the first hour.

Fun fact: Former Mayor Stoney and current Mayor Avula are also fans, if their comments under the truck's initial November post are any indication.
