Zoom in: Under KD's updated chaperone policy:

• Guests 17 or younger must be accompanied by an adult 21 or older "throughout their visit."
• One adult covers for no more than five minors.

• The policy is in effect for all hours the park is open.

The intrigue: The new rules are a big change from the park's 2023 policy, which only required chaperones for kids 15 or younger beginning at 4pm and allowed 10 minors for every adult.

• Plus, the 2023 rules only stipulated that a guardian accompany teens through the gate and remain in the park, not with them all day.

What's next: The chaperone policy begins this weekend and will be in place through spring break (March 30-April 5), when it will be reevaluated, Kings Dominion spokesperson Sydney Snow tells Axios.
