"Outlander" fans can see show's costumes in Yorktown

Some of the costumes from Starz's time-traveling series "Outlander" are on display at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.

Why it matters: Viewing them is the perfect day trip from Richmond for fans as the show's final season unfolds.

State of play: The exhibit, "Outlander: Costumes Woven in Time," features 26 costumes from Seasons 1-4 designed by Terry Dresbach.

Those include Jamie and Claire's wedding outfits in Season 1, Claire's red Versailles dress in Season 2 and Brianna's Season 3 1700s patchwork hunting shirt.
True to the series premise, the costumes span 18th-century Highlands, 1940s Scotland, Paris in the 1970s and America, circa 1970.

Fun fact: Seasons 6-8 are set during the Revolutionary War.
