Night Crawler brings Valentine's cocktail pop-up to Richmond

Night Crawler, a newish-to-Richmond cocktail pop-up, returns Thursday at Riverside Tavern in South Richmond.
Why it matters: The drinks are "focused on Valentine's Day flavors with a twist," co-owner Chris Mumford tells Axios.
State of play: Mumford and partner Alexyss Kaneubbe relocated to Richmond in late 2024, after Hurricane Helene forced them out of Asheville, where they'd moved two years prior and started their cocktail pop-up, per RVA Mag.
- In RVA, they found a welcoming community and plenty of industry friends willing to host the pop-up's funky flavors, including Emerald Lounge, Cobra Burger, The Veil Brewing and Riverside.
- Thursday's pop-up will be their third at Riverside and will feature four new Valentine's Day-themed cocktails.
What they're saying: "We just want people to come out, have fun and enjoy this finally nice weather," Mumford tells Axios.
On the menu: Cocktails include Till Death; And Now, I'm Eating Your Boyfriend; It's Not You, It's Me; Take Me Home Tonight and Talk Fernaughty to Me ($13-$16).
If you go: Night Crawler will be at Riverside Tavern (5057 Forest Hill Ave.) from 6-11pm.
What's next: More pop-ups around Richmond.
- Night Crawler is looking for a place in town to open Day Walker, "an all-day coffee shop that has Night Crawler feel with coffee drinks and coffee 'cocktails," plus wine and beer, Mumford says.
- "We've really enjoyed Richmond, and we hope to be able to keep growing here and eventually have something of our own," he adds.
