Where to see the famous Buddhist monks in Richmond today

The Buddhist monks trekking the 2,300 miles from Texas to D.C. are arriving in Richmond on Monday.
Why it matters: Their "Walk for Peace" has captured global attention, with hundreds and thousands of people sometimes waiting hours just to catch a glimpse — including in Chesterfield on Sunday.
What they're saying: "We felt so welcomed. We felt so warm," they wrote in a Facebook post about their Chesterfield stop. "In those 4 miles, we felt like we were coming home."
Catch up quick: Richmond marks day 100 of the monks' journey to "share a message of compassion, mindfulness, and peace in a time of uncertainty," per their social media.
- They're joined by beloved rescue dog, Aloka, who has a heart on his forehead and is recovering from surgery.
What's next: They'll be walking from Richmond Fire Station 17 on Semmes Avenue to City Hall starting at 2pm, per a Facebook post.
- Then there will be a peace gathering on the Marshall Street side of City Hall at 3pm with Mayor Avula and Gov. Spanberger.
