Slim pickings this weekend in Richmond, but here's what you can do

The weekend has arrived. If you can get out of your house (and God knows we all need to), here are (a few things) you can get into.

Pro tip: Once again, check to make sure the event is still on before you go due to the impending winter weather.

Thursday

🎙️ Ari Shapiro, former cohost of NPR's "All Things Considered" is bringing his one-man evening of stories and songs cabaret show to the The Tin Pan. 8pm. Tickets start at $74.57.

Friday

🏒 There's a "Heated Rivalry Rave" happening at The Broadberry, featuring "queer pop anthems." Hockey-ware is encouraged. 9pm. It's sold out, but resales could pop up if folks are snowed in.

🥁 After 5 Fridays (should be) on at VMFA, this month featuring VCU's Black Awakening Choir and the Hampton University Marching Force Band. 6:30pm. Free.

🤠 Kickin' Country line dancing (with lessons) and free mechanical bull rides are happening at Scotty's Taphouse in Scott's Addition (23+). 9pm. Free.

Saturday

🎾 "Arthur Ashe: An Enduring Legacy," an exhibition dedicated to the famous Richmonder and tennis player, opens at the Black History Museum & Cultural Center of Virginia. Times vary. Admission starts at $10.

🐩 Do you have a large dog? Have it pull you via sled to meet friends for dinner at that new restaurant you've been dying to try. Times vary. $50-$200.

Sunday

⛸️ Borrow some ice skates, text your pals and skate yourself somewhere for brunch and mimosas. Times vary. $25-$75.
