Seven things to know about Abigail Spanberger's RVA connections

State of play: Here are seven things you may not know about the new governor's Richmond connections.

🚛 Spanberger's family moved to Henrico when she was 13 and she graduated from Tucker High, Henrico Citizen reports.

📍 She still lives in Glen Allen (until next week, anyway) and her three daughters — Claire (12th grade), Charlotte (9th grade) and Catherine (6th grade) — attend Henrico Public Schools, per The Dogwood.

🌏 Spanberger is a classic Richmond boomerang, deciding to move back to town in 2014 after nearly a decade globetrotting for the CIA (though that's probably not the term the CIA uses), the Washington Post reports.

💗 Her husband, Adam, is also from Henrico (he went to Godwin) and works as a software engineer, per his LinkedIn. The two fell in love as undergrads at UVA and it appears they got married there, per her Insta.

💍 Spanberger will be wearing jewelry made by artist Mallory Martin-Parker, an Atlee and VCU grad, at her inauguration, the Times-Dispatch reports.

🚂 She will be sworn in by William C. Mims, a Supreme Court of Virginia justice and former Republican lawmaker, whom she met at the Staples Mill station while waiting to catch a train to D.C., per the Post.

🛍️ And her Made in Virginia Market inaugural kickoff event on Friday will feature two Richmond bands (Høly River and ELONCE) and nearly two dozen RVA-based vendors.
