"Trashed Panda" merchandise commemorating the drunk raccoon that recently tore through a Richmond-area liquor store has raised more than $180,000 for the local animal shelter that helped sober him up.
Why it matters: Richmond's now world-famous drunk raccoon is the gift that keeps on giving (and giving, and giving).
Driving the news: Hanover County Animal Protection — the shelter that discovered the soused masked bandit splooted next to a toilet after a Black Friday binge — worked with Richmond-based custom apparel maker Bonfire to create limited-edition merch memorizing the viral moment.
The merch: "Trashed Panda," presented as a splooted raccoon next to a spilled bottle of booze.
- It's available as a sticker, tumbler, travel mug, tee or hoodie ($4.99-$41-99).
- Proceeds benefit the Hanover shelter and its animal care and officer training programs.
- The merch is available through Sunday, and should arrive by the end of the year.
