See Patrick Henry's Liberty or death speech — delivered by Richmond women

State of play: The reenactment features Richmond actresses portraying the nine delegates to the Second Virginia Convention, which took place in St. John's Church in 1775.

• You might've heard of some of them: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry — the nation's founding fathers, and Virginians, who gathered in Church Hill 250 years ago and started a revolution.
• It would take another 145 years, though, for women to win the right to fully participate in the new nation, something the event's producers hope the gender-bending production causes attendees to reflect on.

Zoom in: The lady-powered reenactment was supposed to take place in 2020 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of women winning the right to vote. But... well, the pandemic happened, per Style Weekly.

• Instead, Richmonders can enjoy it this year, the 250th anniversary of Henry's famous speech, right here in Richmond.
