New-to town festivals, a cat tour, Broadway in Richmond and a bathrobe bar crawl, it's shaping up to be a very Richmond weekend. Let's get into it.
Friday
🎭 Tony Award-winning musical "Kimberly Akimbo" continues its run at Altria through Sunday and is the kickoff to the 2025-26 Broadway in Richmond season. Tickets start at $32.60.
🏮 It's the last weekend for Garden Glow at Maymont, all weekend. Times vary. $20.
🍰 There's a Greek Sweets Pastry Sale at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral (where the Greek Fest is), with various baked goods for sale benefitting the church. Friday and Saturday, 10am-5pm. Free.
Saturday
👘 The Byrd's Big LeBYRDski Fest — the theater's celebration of the "The Big Lebowski" — includes Lebowski trivia, a costume contest and a film screen. 6pm.
- But first, per usual, the event kicks off with a Bathrobe Bar Crawl through Carytown, 4-6pm. Tickets are $20.
🤤 There's an Asian Street Food Festival at The Answer Brewpub in the West End, featuring the best street-vendor inspired food you can find, plus craft beer. Noon-it's over. Free.
😻 The RVA Cat Tour is clawing its way through the Fan for another year and sadly sold out, but if you're wandering around that morning, don't be surprised to spy some cat peeping groups out and out.
👙 The Barbie Truck Tour is rolling its pink, merch-stuffed van into Short Pump Town Center near Pottery Barn. 10am-7pm.
🫦 Attention Gen Xers, Laura Lee's is hosting a Gen X singles' mixer with wine and cheese tastings for the grown, single and flirty crowd. Go for vibes, stay for the "in my day" chatter. 2:30-5pm. $44.52.
🎙TEDxRVA Youth — part of the broader Tedx speaker series, but this one is run entirely by students — will be at Collegiate's Hershey Center for the Arts. 5-7pm. Free.
Sunday
🎶 The first-ever Brookland Park Boulevard Fest is taking over the Northside strip between Fendall and North Avenues for an afternoon of local vendors, live music, food, kids activities, neighborhood history and more. 1-5pm. Free.
🍲 Richmond's Jewish Food Festival is serving up latkes, kugel, knish, chopped liver, matzo ball soup and more at Keneseth Beth Israel in the Near West End. Sunday-Monday, noon-7pm. Free, food is pay as you go.
