Under a video that asked people to name one good thing that came out of Richmond, someone commented, "That guy on here giving away tiramisu."
Why it matters: He's real and his name is Alex Na.
The big picture: What started as a leftover birthday giveaway has turned into weekly Saturday "tiramisu drops" that have drawn crowds to Libby Hill, Byrd and Jefferson parks.
- It's an open invitation to anyone who wants a free slice.
Zoom in: Na, the self-proclaimed "free tiramisu guy," chronicles the making of each pan of dessert— from the groceries to the final product — and announces where the next meet up will be on TikTok.
- He also provides the spoons and plates at each gathering, where the tiramisu is often gone within minutes.
- Richmonders have even started bringing their own desserts to share. Some have given Na a painting, a banana plush toy and 1,000 Mexican pesos as "payment."
- And throughout November, he'll be donating 50% of any donations he gets to RVA Community Fridge and other local food banks, per a video.
