Struggling to park in Scott's Addition? Try these 5 hacks

One of the worst parts about Richmond is trying to park (or drive) in Scott's Addition.

Why it matters: We're here to give you five tips on how to hack it in one of Richmond's busiest (and most crowded) neighborhoods.

1: Don't. Take the Pulse, snag a bike from a share station or hop on a scooter instead.

2: If you have to drive, avoid West Leigh and West Moore streets, especially near Väsen Brewing, Ardent and Starr Hill or near ZZQ on Sundays, when they have their bacon ribs special.

Opt for Rockbridge Street near Black Lodge, Norfolk Street and Altamont Avenue by Class and Trash.

3: If you don't mind walking across Broad, head to Cutshaw Avenue by the Broad Street Pollinator Park or MOSAIC across from Three Notch'd. You'll find a spot even at peak weekend hours. Be sure to use the crosswalks.

5: If you don't mind paying: Lot 310 on Summit Avenue in front of Lunch.Supper! is rarely full and costs $8 for 2 hours, $10 for 3 hours and $12 for 4 hours.

5. Check restaurant websites. Many — like Black Lodge, Tazza Kitchen, Lunch.Supper!, ZZQ, Ardent — say they offer free or validated parking in nearby lots.

The bottom line: Even if it's after 5pm, there's a spot for Scott's Addition drivers — as long as they can parallel park.
