Richmond is buzzing this weekend โ from live trivia on a trolley, to carnival rides, big-name concerts and even a cat video festival.
Friday
๐ผ๏ธ It's First Fridays in the Art District, and new this month: A free trolley running through the event, with live trivia happening onboard. 6-8pm. Free.
๐ก A pop-up carnival will be in the Chesterfield Towne Center parking lot, nightly and all day on the weekends through Sept. 13. Admission is free, ride tickets are $1.50 each or $37 for an unlimited ride wristband.
๐ธ Daniel Donato plays "Music at Maymont," a music series on the carriage house lawn. 6pm. $35.
๐ถ Singer Poppy is popping into The National for a show. 7pm. $46.32.
Saturday
๐ฅ RVA Duck Race & Festival of Inclusion, benefiting the Autism Society of Central Virginia, is back at Brown's Island from 11am-4pm, with live music, food trucks, and family-friendly activities.
- Suggested $5 donation, and $7 per duck to enter to win a $10,000 grand prize.
๐ค Leon Bridges and Charley Crockett play Allianz Amphitheater. 7 p.m. Tickets start $85.
๐ผ River City Roller Derby is on at the Richmond Convention Center against Chattanooga. 4:30pm. $15.
๐ฅ Richmond ComiConย will bring Star Wars characters, vendors and comic book creators to the Richmond Raceway. 11am-4pm. $15.
๐ถ Lab Rescue's annual "Pups in the Pool" is on at the The Connexion at River Mill. 9:30am-3:30pm. $25 per a dog.
Sunday
๐ There's a CatVideoFest at Ashland Theatre, which is basically a 75-minute compilation of adorable cat reels, with proceeds benefiting Alixs Fosters. 6pm. $13 for adults, $11 for kids.
๐ฏ Get your Bingo on and win prizes at Bingo Beer Co. 3-5pm. Free.
๐ผ๏ธ Hit up "Frida: Beyond the Myth" at VMFA before it leaves Sept. 28. Tickets start at $20.
