It's shaping up to be a weekend of live music, festivals and celebrating Richmond's favorite upcoming date: 804.
Thursday, July 31
🎷 Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden has Jay Brown's Grace Street Seven, "a vintage style jazz band," performing songs from the 1920s, 30s and 40s — all while in bow ties. 5-8pm. Free
Friday, Aug. 1
☕️ Coalescence Coffee Company, a new coffee shop on Broad Street, has its grand opening with giveaways, free kids drinks and a specialty coffee menu. 8am-7pm. Free.
🎉 Manchester Manifest is having a block party on Hull Street for First Fridays with local DJs Infinite.Peace, Jaccvon and more. 5pm-midnight. Free. Check out the map here.
🖍️ Intermission Beer Co. in Henrico on Brook Road has an adult coloring club where people bring in their coloring books and unwind from the work week by (you guessed it) coloring. 6-9pm. Free.
❤️ The Head and The Heart is at Allianz Amphitheater. 6pm. Tickets start at $40.50 for the lawn.
Saturday, Aug. 2
⚔️ Don't forget about this weekend's renaissance fair, which will honor "Warriors in Bloom," like Joan of Arc, at Agecroft Hall. Noon-5pm. Adult tickets start at $15.
🥳 Richmond is celebrating 804 Day early with a festival at the 17th Street Market that features performances from local artists like Nickelus F, Los Hermanos Alacranes and more. 12:30-6:30pm. Free.
🍻 Virginia Brews at The Virginia Museum of History & Culture has its eight annual Virginia Brews craft beer festival with live music, access to all of its exhibitions and eight breweries. 6-9pm. Tickets are $45 for non-members, $12 for designated drivers.
🍷 Summer R&B Wine, Food and R&B festival is back at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds. Noon-7pm. Tickets start at $28 and include a souvenir wine glass.
👠 Get your pole on at the opening of Pole Paradise Dance Studio on West Cary Street, where there will be food, vendors and open pole play at 8pm. 6-9pm. Tickets are donation based but reserving a spot is recommended.
🤠 Country star Riley Green is at the Amphitheater starting at 7pm but the only tickets available are resale, and those start at about $171.
Sunday, Aug. 3
👄 The Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse are at Brown's Island. 6pm. $76.98.
🎶 Indie pop-rock band Augustana, who's played with OneRepublic and Counting Crows, is playing at The Tin Pan 7pm. $48.81.
Editor's note: This list has been updated to remove the Richmond International Dragon Boat Festival, which is no longer happening this weekend. Organizers tell Axios they're working through logistical issues and may reschedule for the fall.
