Garden Grove Brewing to close in June

• Kindred Spirit Brewing closed its satellite taproom near Scott's Addition over the weekend, and in Northside, Anytime Beer Co., formerly Tabol Brewing, closed on May 7.

State of play: In a social post Tuesday morning, Garden Grove owners said the main reason they decided to close is that their lease is ending in June.

• They also said they wanted to spend more time with their families and watch their kids grow up.

Yes, but: Garden Grove's closure is Richmond's gain. The Carytown spot will host a closing party on June 14-15 so locals can help kick the kegs.

• That weekend, all beer, wine, slushies, and the brewery's glassware will be $5.

What they're saying: "It has been truly an honor to serve and be served in this unbelievable community," the owners wrote in the post.

What's next: The brewery at 3445 W. Cary St. will close at the end of service on Saturday, June 28.
