It's Christmas in RVA, which means the city's signature displays of multicolored, mismatched holiday lights haphazardly arranged in a tree or out a balcony are in full effect.
This style originated in the Fan, likely on Monument Avenue, which we're pretty sure was the first street to dangle these lights from a second story windows.
Then the trend made the jump to trees, and ultimately the rest of the city.
The bottom line: This is very much a Richmond thing. And it is awesome.
