Since Halloween is this week, we wanted to know how generous Axios Richmond readers are when trick-or-treaters show up in their best trashy costumes.
Why it matters: The vast majority of readers agree that one piece of candy is so last year.
Driving the news: More than half (56.1%) of the 296 readers who responded to our Halloween survey say they give out two or three pieces of fun-sized candy to each trick-or-treater.
16.6% give out as many as they want and 6% are FSCHs (that's Karri's made up acronym for full-sized candy households).
Less than 10% of respondents give out only one measly piece.
Yes, but: 8.1% of people don't even play. They keep their lights off and give out no candy at all.
💭 Karri's thought bubble: I give out multiple pieces of candy to offset the 3/4 of my neighborhood that keep their lights out, despite the more than 100 trick-or-treaters that show up each year.
It makes me ragey, at least at the folks who can afford to give out candy and don't.
