Speaking of street art, Richmond got a brand new mural over the weekend: the Westover Hills Neighborhood Dog mural from local artist Matt Lively.
Why it matters: It may well be the most fitting street art for the Forest Hill/Westover Hills corridor — dogs lounging on James River rocks in an uber dog-loving part of town just blocks from the river.
State of play: The new mural is on the west-facing side of 5047 Forest Hill Ave., across from The Veil Forest Hill and next to The Locker Room.
Richmond-based Dodson Development Group bought the building and the two on either side of it last year for $2.6 million, per BizSense.
The mural coincides with the first wave of second floor apartments hitting the market. Starting rent for the one-bedrooms is $1,395.
Zoom in: Lively worked on the mural all of last week and chronicled the progress — and the daily heat factor — on Facebook.
