How Anderson .Paak spent a day in Richmond

Grammy award-winning rapper Anderson .Paak was in Richmond this weekend and documented his day on Instagram in a video seen nearly 800,000 times.

Why it matters: It's always cool when our city gets some love from famous artists, and even cooler when they support local talent — which he did at DayDream Fest on Monday.

How he spent his day:

🤯 Stood in awe at our drive-thru-less Sonic on West Cary Street.

🍳 Walked into 821 Cafe because "it looks cute" and got a gin and tonic and a breakfast sandwich.

🚙 Drove through the Fan.

🎷 Listened to live jazz music at the Savory Grain.

🎧 Went to an (undisclosed) studio that looks like GoodPeeples to record new music.

The intrigue: He references being on set in the video, and coincidentally, Pharrell is in town filming a musical.

What's next: .Paak's new album comes out June 7.
