My recommendations:

• An empanada with carne mechada (think shredded beef but better), $5.
• Cachapas (a half-moon sweet corn pancake stuffed with queso de mano, a white Venezuelan soft cheese), $16.
• Tequeños (fried cheese sticks wrapped in dough. No they are not mozzarella sticks, I swear), four for $11.

Pro tip: Cachapas are $5 off on Tuesdays.
