The Broadberry is celebrating 10 years of hosting live music in Richmond with an all-star lineup all month.

Why it matters: Shows are selling out fast, Broadberry co-owner Lucas Fritz tells Axios.

Zoom in: In honor of their 10th anniversary, we asked Fritz to share some fun facts about the music venue. Here are our faves:

  • ☠️ Staffers hide skeletons around the venue dressed in seasonal outfits and with fun names. (Hey there, "Saxabones" and "Boney Romo.")
  • 🫐 The name comes from its location along Broad Street near Mulberry. Plus, Broadberry "rolls off the tongue better than "Broadevard,'" Fritz says.
  • ğŸŽ¥ During COVID, they made the venue a soundstage for livestreams and video shoots, including a four-day livestream for Richmond's own Lamb of God.

If you go: While tomorrow night's' Mannequin Pussy show is sold out, tickets are still available for Shovels and Rope on April 13, Swans on April 14 and Born of Osiris on April 23, to name a few.

  • And don't miss their big anniversary bash on April 20: a block party with Infamous Stringdusters, No BS Brass, Prabir and The Mitras, beginning at 4:30pm and going into the night.
  • Tickets range from $20-$41.
