Prepare your livers, Richmond, because St. Patrick's Day weekend is here — and this year it's jam-packed with festivals.

Driving the news: Shamrock the Block and the Church Hill Irish Festival are this weekend, a rare occurrence of both beloved, can't-miss fests happening on the same weekend (due to an early Easter and Palm Sunday).

Zoom in: Shamrock the Block is Saturday, noon-6pm, back for the second year on Leigh Street from Movieland to Bon Secours Training Facility.

  • The free festival includes live music, kids activities (face painting and bounce houses), food trucks and beer. Lots and lots of beer (wine and cocktails will also be available).

The Church Hill Irish Festival — Richmond's classy St. Paddy's celebration — is Saturday and Sunday, 10am-6pm, on East Broad and 25th in Church Hill.

  • The fest is free, but a $5 donation is suggested for access to the bag-pipers, Irish food, kids stuff, dancing and beer trucks. Don't miss the parade at 10am Sunday.

But wait — there's more Irish fun this weekend.

On Monday, we recover. Hopefully.
