The World Oddities Expo is back for the second year in a row at the Richmond Convention Center.

  • Attendees will find taxidermy workshops (specific to rat heads), live music, burlesque, literally a "freakshow" and jewelry and home decor vendors.
  • Plus, locals can learn about insect pinning, owl pellet dissection and how to make a Victorian hair bouquet.

If you're wondering if you can also get a tattoo during the expo, the answer is — yes, of course you can.

  • Saturday, noon-8pm. Tickets start at $20.

Bonus picks: 🏃‍♂️ The River City Half — a brand new half-marathon — Saturday morning.

  • The event is sold out, but feel free to cheer on the runners along the course, which takes runners to and from the University of Richmond by way of Riverside Drive in South Richmond and City Stadium through the Near West End north of the river.

🛍️ Richmond's inaugural BLK Market — a market featuring around a dozen local Black-owned businesses — is Saturday, noon-4pm at Red Bird Social downtown.

🤤 And don't forget Mobile Soul Sunday, the kickoff for Richmond Black Restaurant Experience. It's happening Sunday.
