Richmond's tacky lights are the best in the state

Richmond's dazzling tacky lights are the absolute best Christmas light displays in all of Virginia.

Driving the news: Travel and Leisure magazine rounded up the best Christmas displays in every state and, of course, our tacky lights, and the accompanying Tacky Light Tours, came out on top.

• "Virginia has plenty of pristine houses decorated with all-white strands, but Richmond's famed Tacky Lights Tour is just so much more fun," the publication wrote.

😳 Why it matters: Some tacky light displays begin the day after Thanksgiving, which somehow is next week.

The bottom line: We're No. 1.

• That means NoVa, Hampton Roads and all of Southwest/Southside Virginia are not.
