The former circular Holiday Inn in downtown Raleigh is expected to reopen as a Hotel Indigo in October, the building's owners said.
Why it matters: Built in 1969, the circular hotel was nearly demolished before becoming a historic landmark after Tidal Real Estate Partners bought it in 2021.
Tidal put more than $30 million into the 19-story hotel, refreshing the rooms and parking deck and adding a kitchen and bar back to the top floor.
Zoom in: After renovation, the hotel will have 204 rooms and operate under IHG Hotels & Resorts' Hotel Indigo brand.
It will also have gathering spaces for meetings and a ground-floor cafe.
The top-floor cocktail lounge and event space will be the highest hospitality venue in the city, Tidal says.
