A new brewery and restaurant is launching in Raleigh's West End neighborhood.
Why it matters: Basic Brewing Co., which plans to open this fall, joins a growing roster of tenants at the Platform Apartments on Cabarrus Street.
The apartments, built by Kane Realty, are already home to The Bike Library, Brightside Books & Wine and Homebody Yoga. Other businesses nearby include Boulted Bread and Sauna House.
Zoom in: Basic Brewing will feature a mid-century modern design and will have a lineup of its own craft beers as well as cocktails.
The restaurant will offer a menu of pizza and an "American-inspired selection of dishes."
The big picture: Investors have been investing heavily into the west side of downtown Raleigh, with the hopes of creating a new hub of businesses and restaurants.
In addition to the Platform apartments, Kane Realty is building the Oldham & Worth apartment building.
Other nearby residential projects include the Maeve apartment tower, The Weld apartments and Rockway apartments, all of which have added hundreds of new units to the area.
Between the lines: Basic's arrivals comes a time a flux in the craft beer industry.
