We recently stopped on a rainy weekday for lunch at Samantha's Pupusas, a Hillsborough favorite since late 2017.
It's known for its traditional Salvadoran namesake dishes, which are made from thick hand-formed tortillas stuffed with fillings like cheese, beans, and seasoned meat.
🫓 Best bites: We tried a variety of pupusas, including cheese and black bean, plus a taco plate featuring flavors such as tinga, al pastor and chicharron — all served with fresh cilantro and onions on warm homemade tortillas.
📍 If you go: Find Samantha's, originally started as a food truck in Durham, at 117 Cornelius St.
