Reports are swirling that Hubert Davis might not be the only men's head basketball coach on his way out in the Triangle.
What's happening: Multiplereportsemerged yesterday that Louisiana State University was interested in reuniting with first-year N.C. State head coach Will Wade.
Why it matters: If it comes to fruition, it would be a shocking end to Wade's first year in Raleigh, which began with an incredible amount of hype for a "red reckoning" and ended with frustration in the NCAA Tournament First Four.
Between the lines: Wade dismissed the rumors the night of his NCAA Tournament loss, saying he was committed to the Wolfpack and promising this would be the worst version of a team during his tenure in Raleigh.
And LSU head coach Matt McMahon is still in the job in Baton Rouge.
What we're watching: A decision could come soon, as the transfer portal is set to open on April 7, though that's not the only important date to monitor.
If LSU were to pry Wade away now, it would owe N.C. State $5 million for his buyout.
