The growing New York City bagel chain H&H Bagels is making its North Carolina debut in Chapel Hill, which its CEO says will be "the first of many" stores in the state.
Driving the news: The chain says it will make bagels according to the original recipe and boil them in New York City tap water, before sending them down south to be baked fresh daily.
Michael and Amanda Klein own the local franchise, and the couple plans to open additional locations.
If you go: The new location opens Thursday — yes, that's National Bagel Day —in University Place, at 239 S Estes Dr., #101. The first 250 customers get gift cards.
