Five wooden trolls from the acclaimed Danish artist Thomas Dambo are currently under construction in Raleigh's Dix Park.
Why it matters: When completed this month, the statutes will join a network of more than 150 troll statues that Dambo has now built across five continents, including two others being built this month in High Point and Charlotte.
The hope is that the trolls will bring more visitors to Dix Park, which is investing heavily in park amenities, like the Gipson Play Plaza and public artworks.
