One upside to the near-daily thunderstorms we've had lately is that Dix Park's sunflower fields are now full of blooms.
Why it matters: The annual emergence of the sunflowers at Dix Park is one of the park's main attractions every year, drawing more than 100,000 visitors to its fields.
City officials say you should visit in the next two weeks to see the blooms at their peak.
Zoom in: City staff has planted more than 125,000 sunflower seeds across five acres at the park.
In addition to attracting visitors, the sunflowers are an important pollinator habitat, and the seeds provide food for wildlife in the fall, according to the city.
