A new taco joint opens at Boxyard RTP

Boxyard RTP, a collection of shipping containers home to restaurants and retail shops in Research Triangle Park, will once again have a restaurant serving tacos.

Driving the news: La Taqueria by Katsuji, a new concept from the Raleigh chef Katsuji Tanabe and restaurateur Anthony Rapillo, is now open at Boxyard RTP.

Tanabe, a Top Chef alum, said the restaurant's focus will be on creating the tacos that he grew up eating in his native Mexico City.
The menu will include tacos featuring suadero beef brisket, chorizo or sweet potatoes from North Carolina.
It also has a cocktail menu and beer from Tanabe's other restaurant Flour & Barrel in downtown Raleigh.

Zoom out: The restaurant's arrival means tacos are once again available at Boxyard, after Lawrence Barbecue and its sister restaurant Leroy Tacos decided to decamp for a larger space in downtown Cary.

Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 11am-8pm
