Raleigh chef Scott Crawford is collaborating with the Raleigh Iron Works-based taqueria Little Rey on a new seafood taco.
Why it matters: The proceeds from the taco, which pair one of Raleigh's buzziest chefs with the Atlanta restaurateur Ford Fry, will go to the nonprofit Ben's Friends, which helps food and beverage workers struggling with addiction.
Crawford, the chef behind Brodeto, Crawford & Sons and several other restaurants, has been outspoken about his own journey to sobriety.
What to expect: The taco is deeply indebted to Brodeto's Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, featuring grilled octopus and salsa macha, a salsa made with chili oil.
The collaboration will only be on Little Rey's menu during March.
