More than 100 days since Hurricane Helene hit North Carolina's mountains, close to 5,700 households have been displaced, according to a new dashboard launched by the state auditor's office.
By the numbers: More than 2,000 are receiving FEMA rental or transitional housing assistance, and more than 300 are in need of assistance, the dashboard shows.
The remaining more than 3,000 households chose not to use FEMA assistance.
