It may be too late to preorder a bouquet or a box of chocolates, but you still have time to put together a thoughtful gift or plan a date night for Valentine's Day with the help of local businesses in the Triangle.
Here are a few last-minute ideas:
Grab some chocolate or sweet treats at Videri Chocolate Factory, Escazu Chocolates, The Cupcake Shoppe Bakery or Guglhulpf Bakery and Restaurant.
Buy a bottle of wine at Wine Authorities (locations in Raleigh and Durham), State of Beer (both Raleigh shops have a wide selection of great wines), Raleigh Wine Shop or Chapel Hill's Rocks and Acid.
Snag a bouquet:
- Build your own bouquet at Feature Flora Thursday and Friday, from 11am until they sell out.
- Visit Coco Cinnamon Lakewood's Valentine's Day flower pop-up.
- A limited number of arrangements will be available at Golden Flora Shop in Apex starting at 11am.
- Bower Bird Flowers & Apothecary in Durham is still accepting Valentine's orders, too.
More ideas:
- Pick up some coffee beans — or just a coffee! — from a local shop. In Raleigh, Iris Coffee Lab, Boulted Bread and The Optimist are some of the shops offering love-day-themed drinks or treats.
- Local boutiques around the Triangle are loaded with thoughtful gifts for everyone in your life (including yourself. In Raleigh, try Edge of Urge or Unlikely Professionals and Flourish Market. In Durham, Parker and Otis, and in Carrboro, Narrative and Co all have a selection of Valentine's Day gifts at a variety of price points.
- If you're really going all out: Give your loved one a gift card to Woodhouse Spa in North Hills, which is offering Valentine's Day gifts with purchase.
Plan a date:
- Spend your evening at The Rialto, which is playing "When Harry Met Sally" at 7pm Friday.
- Make a reservation for Valentine's Day Dinner with a prix-fixe menu at Raleigh's Heights House.
- Enjoy raw oysters and po boys at Raleigh's The Bend Bar starting at 6pm.
If Galentine's Day is more your thing:
- Join Heights House for a Galentine's Afternoon Tea Thursday.
- Raleigh cocktail bar and lounge Clockwork is hosting Galentine's Day Party Thursday starting at 9pm, featuring a DJ, chocolates, charcuterie and permanent jewelry by Heir Raleigh.
- Sip $5 glasses of rosé at Galentine's Day on the Roof at The Durham Hotel from 5-10pm Thursday.
