Napoli Pizzeria & Gelateria, which began as a humble food truck before expanding into its first brick-and-mortar space in downtown Carrboro about five years ago, serves up some of the tastiest pizzas in the Triangle.
What to expect: Neapolitan-style pies baked in wood-fired ovens you can watch from the bar or a handful of tables in the front part of the intimate restaurant.
Napoli is also known for its fresh homemade gelato.
We tried the funghi, which features fresh San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, a seasonal mushroom mix and herbs ($16).
If you go: Find Napoli at 105 East Main St. It's open Tuesday-Saturday, 5-9pm and closed on Sunday and Month.
