Upstart airline Avelo Airlines is bringing two Caribbean flights to Raleigh-Durham International Airport, with the addition of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, as destinations.
Why it matters: The two flights bring RDU's number of nonstop international flights to 14, and come off the heels of the airport adding Calgary and Vancouver, Canada, as destinations.
Driving the news: Both new Avelo routes will launch on Feb. 12 and will fly on Wednesdays and Saturdays from mid-November through September.
