RDU lands another Canadian flight

Raleigh-Durham International Airport will get a direct flight to Vancouver, Canada, starting in June, the airport announced on Monday.

Why it matters: It's the second time in recent weeks that the airport has added another destination to Canada and its 12th international direct route.

Driving the news: Air Canada will operate the new route to Vancouver, on Canada's west coast.

• The five-hour-and-twenty-minutes flight will leave from Terminal 2 three days a week between June and September.
• Air Canada will use a Boeing 737 MAX with 16 business-class seats and 153 economy seats.

The big picture: It's been another year of international expansion for RDU.

• In November, WestJet said it would begin service between RDU and Calgary as well.
• Flights on BermudAir to Bermuda and Copa Airlines to Panama City were also announced this year.
