Legendary soccer star Mia Hamm, a 1994 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and a two-time Olympic gold medalist, will deliver her alma mater's 2025 spring commencement address, the school announced Thursday.
Why it matters: Hamm helped cement UNC's standing as an elite women's sports institution. One of the most recognized female athletes in the world, Hamm set the NCAA women's soccer scoring record with 278 points and led the Tar Heels to four national titles.
Details: Commencement will take place at 7pm on Saturday, May 10, in Kenan Stadium.
