Durham alt-country group Fust named among best new bands for 2023

A Durham group is featured on the influential music site Stereogum's list of 40 Best New Bands of 2023.

Driving the news: Fust, a band making lyrically driven, alt-country tunes, was the only North Carolina group included on the list.

Yes, but: The musical project — helmed by Duke Ph.D literature student Aaron Dowdy — includes collaborations with some of the state's most acclaimed young musicians, like Indigo De Souza and MJ Lenderman.
