If your pet's name is Luna, Milo or Charlie, you might get a few extra dogs running your way when you call for them at the dog park.

State of play: Rover released its list of top pet names for 2026, and in Phoenix, the top five are:

🐶 Dogs: Luna, Charlie, Milo, Daisy, Bella

🐱 Cats: Oreo, Luna, Milo, Charlie, Kitty

Zoom in: Milo was a new addition to the top five for dogs this year, displacing 2025's fourth-most popular name, Coco.

Charlie knocked Leo out of the top five on the cat side.

The intrigue: Harry, Belle and Kiwi are the trending dog names to watch, so if you want your pup to have a unique handle, you might want to find something else.

Ditto for Spooky, Dusty and Ella for your kitty.
Some Valley pet owners are drawing inspiration from local place names and wildlife with names like Mesa, Creek, Phoenix, Coyote, Cholla, Lizard and Sunny making Rover's list.

🗣️ You tell us: Does your furry friend have a unique moniker? Perhaps something evocative of the Valley or Arizona?
