New eatery Cowboy Seafood delivers exactly what it promises

If you have trouble making decisions, Midtown Phoenix has a brand-new restaurant that may stress you out — because everything on the menu sounds good.
State of play: Over the weekend, I pulled up a chair at Cowboy Seafood, the surf-and-barbecue spot that opened this month at Park Central.
- The concept is the latest from chef Christopher Collins, who is also behind The Neighborly and The Macintosh, among others.
Dig in: Cowboy Seafood's menu is hardly of Cheesecake Factory proportions, but I was struck by how many offerings I wanted to try.
- My wife and I decided to start with the bacon-cheddar drop biscuits ($12) and tempura green beans ($14).
- The biscuits came with a mound of sweet, spreadable butter, and the green beans were the most addictive thing we ate.
For the entree, I went with the prime brisket ($38) while my wife opted for a salmon dish ($38) off the "Saltwater Saint" menu.
- Both were tasty — the baked potato that came with my brisket was awesome — but could have used a bit more seasoning.
The bottom line: I hope to go back — there are about 15 other menu items I have my eye on.
If you go: Cowboy Seafood is open 11am-9pm Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 11am-10pm Friday-Saturday.
