The fall edition of Arizona Restaurant Week kicks off Friday, meaning Valley foodies have the opportunity for special deals at more than 250 local eateries.
How it works: Through Sept. 27, participating restaurants are offering prix-fixe menus for $33, $44 or $55.
- That price gets you a three-course meal at most places: appetizer, entree and dessert.
- You can still order off the regular menu, if you so desire.
If you go: There are 293 restaurants to choose from, the overwhelming majority of which are in the Valley. (A few are in Sedona and Tucson.)
- That includes more than 40 dining spots that are taking part for the first time.
- You can find the whole list — or, perhaps more usefully, a map — on the Arizona Restaurant Week website. Click on a restaurant to see their promotional menu.
- Pro tip: Call ahead or make a reservation, depending on the restaurant — many will be slammed.
The intrigue: Three of the 19 Arizona restaurants to earn Michelin recognition are participating.
- Latha: African cuisine, $44 menu, Phoenix.
- Hush Public House: Upscale American food, $55 menu, Scottsdale.
- Indibar: Indian fare, $55 menu, Paradise Valley.
Dig in: Here are three other menus we're excited to try:
Cleaverman
455 N. 3rd St., Suite 1005, Phoenix
The downtown Phoenix steakhouse is offering dinners at all three price points, depending on your entree.
- Those entrées are a cauliflower steak ($33), a branzino ($44) and an 8-ounce New York strip ($55).
- The "colossal" shrimp cocktail starter sounds good, too.
Electric Pickle
8688 S. Emerald Drive, Tempe
The self-described "eatertainment" spot features a more approachable menu for $44.
- We've got our eye on the hot honey goat cheese balls and the chicken and waffles.
- You can also enjoy pickle ball — the game, not a menu item — along with bocce ball, corn hole, live music and more.
Pizza to the Rescue
2601 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix
This family-friendly Italian spot, associated with a neighboring dog rescue, will have a $44 menu that includes any pizza they make.
- There's also pasta, cheesecake and, for another $22, two glasses of wine.
- Don't forget the most important part! Every evening, the dog rescue brings out adoptable puppies in a playpen on the patio.
