Tres Leches will close its doors Sunday

• It'll be open 6am-1pm through Friday, and 7am-2pm on Sunday.
• The south Phoenix location on Central Avenue shut down last Sunday, while the Van Buren Street location near downtown closed in January 2024.

Owner ET Rivera tells Axios he wants to thank everyone who's supported Tres Leches over the past 12 years.

• "It means more to them than any coffee shop should ever. They're very emotional and have a lot of emotional ties to the cafe," he says.
• Customers have been telling staff how much Tres Leches means to them and sometimes even crying in the drive-through.
• "I don't know if anybody was doing that at the Salad and Go drive-through line on the last day," Rivera joked.

What's next: Rivera has no immediate plans, but possibly next year, "after the dust settles," he may try to start something new.

• His goal would be to create something similar to Tres Leches' Van Buren location, he says.
